Where innovation meets human hearing.
Hearoll Medical Inc. is pioneering a new global standard in audiology — bringing precision, realism, and accessibility to every hearing test.
For over half a century, audiology has relied on pure-tone and headphone-based tests. These measure hearing thresholds — but not how people truly hear in real environments filled with voices, background noise, and motion.
That gap has serious consequences: millions of hearing-aid fittings and diagnoses remain incomplete, delaying effective treatment and adding strain to healthcare systems.
Recent studies from Stanford University revealed that there’s no correlation between speech discrimination tests performed in silence and in noise.
In other words — we have been testing hearing wrong up until now. It is not enough with a threshold test in silence, we also need to test how clients respond to noisy conditions.
I’ve been working on ideas in audiology since 2006. In 2007, I received an entrepreneurial scholarship for my idea of mobile audiology, connecting audiology with telemedicine — the foundation of Hearoll.
In 2008, I introduced a new clinical testing system for free field audiology in my bachelor thesis: the speaker-hat. I believe this system has the potential to renew audiology, and it will become Hearoll Medical’s first product.
My journey is also personal. In 2007, during an exam, I suddenly lost hearing in my right ear. I suspect it was a perilymphatic fistula, but never received a confirmed diagnosis. This has been challenging, but it gave me resilience and purpose: to disrupt audiology and create solutions that truly help people.
Hearoll Medical has developed a head-mounted, multi-speaker device that recreates the acoustic complexity of real-world environments — from busy cafés to classrooms and meeting rooms.
By surrounding the listener with a calibrated sound field, this system delivers:

We believe every hearing test should reflect how people actually hear.
Our mission is to create standardized, data-driven methods that bring audiology into the modern era — powered by AI, connected across borders, and centered on human experience.
When testing mirrors reality, care becomes more meaningful — and that’s the foundation of better hearing for all.
Hearoll’s systems combine advanced signal processing, AI-driven analytics, and globally standardized calibration protocols to ensure accuracy across hospitals, clinics, and research environments.
By merging real-world acoustic simulation with digital precision, Hearoll bridges the gap between traditional audiometry and modern medical technology.
Founded by audiologist and innovator Martin Sørnes, Hearoll Medical Inc. is a Delaware-based medical technology company redefining audiology through science, standardization, and design.
Our mission is simple: make hearing tests as real as hearing itself.
We combine clinical expertise, engineering precision, and a deep human understanding of sound to build the future of hearing assessment.
“The basis for a hearing test should be the natural way we hear.”
